MusicXML is a file format that allows information to be transferred between music notation based applications. If you have a file you have created in any other music notation software that you want to use with AutoGrade, you can export it from there using MusicXML and then import that MusicXML file into MuseScore.
Once you have the MuseScore file set up the way you want, it is ready to uploaded to your MuseClass library where it can used to drive AutoGrade assignments.
MusicXML import into MuseClass
A future update will allow direct import of MusicXML into MuseClass for use with AutoGrade. This update is intended to remove the need for editing in MuseScore that is often needed currently to use the file successfully with AutoGrade.
MuseScore will import any type of MusicXML file (.xml, .musicxml, or .mxl) that you select if you are offered multiple options.
