What are the "Advanced Options" when creating an assignment?

Attempts Allowed

  • This gives the teacher the option to limit the number of attempts that a student is allowed for an assignment. This could be used to create more of a "test" or "exam" feeling for the student.
  • With this setup, each take is automatically saved on the student's device. Once all available takes have been recorded, the student can review their takes and submit their best one.
  • If the teacher chooses to only allow 1 take, the students recording will be automatically submitted as soon as they press stop for that take.
  • By default, the number of takes is set to unlimited.

Please note, this cannot be changed once a student has submitted a take for the assignment.

Release Grades & Comments

  • This allows the teacher the option to choose when grades and comments are released to the students.
  • If you choose to Manually release grades and comments when creating an assignment, you will see a blue circle with an "i" next to the assignment name.
  • You can either click on the 3 action dots on to the right of the assignment name and select Release Grades & Comments from the dropdown menu or you can click on the blue circle with the "i", where you will receive a popup so you can verify that you are ready to release grades and comments to your students.
  • Once you click the blue Release Now button, any future grade changes or comments will default back to being released immediately. You cannot reset this to manual.
  • If you choose to Never release grades and comments, the grades and comments will never be released to your students. This is most beneficial when using MuseClass for auditions.
  • By default, grades and comments are released immediately after the teacher has entered a grade or left a comment.

Please note, this cannot be changed once a student has submitted a take for the assignment.
